TennSACA is proud to present 3 Saturdays of quality school-age training for the School-Age Care Professional in East, Middle, and West Tennessee. Traings will be offered in 3 differnt locations during the month of April. 6 hours of School-Age Specific training will be available. Lunch is included. April 1,2006--Memphis, TN @ The Idlewild Presbyterian Church--1750 Union Ave. The church is located in midtown on Union Avenue between McLean and Belvedere. From the Nashville area, stay on I40 until it becomes Sam Cooper Blvd. Stay on Sam Cooper Blvd. until it dead ends on West Parkway. Turn left on East Parkway and continue to Union Avenue. Turn (west) right on Union and proceed to 1750 which is on the right side of Union. Parking lot on west side of the church. Those coming from East Memphis, Walnut Grove becomes Union Acenue as you travel west. April 8, 2006--Nashville, TN @ Julia Green Elementary School--3500 Hobbs Road. Coming form I40 (Knoxville)---travel on I40--take I440 toward Memphis. At Exit 3 (Hillsboro Road/21st Ave.) take Hillsboro Road Exit. Stay on Hillsboro for about 2 miles. Turn right on Hobbs Road (McDonald's and Exxon Station). Julia Green Elementary will be on the right---about 1 mile. From I65 (Franklin), travel to Nashville---@ Exit 80, turn right to I440 (toward Memphis) and follow the above directions. April 29, 2006--Rockwood, TN @ First Christian Church--328 West Rockwood St. Coming from Knoxville (I40)toward Nashville (same directions when coming from Nashville on I40) Exit 347 (Harriman/Rockwwod). At the exit ramop light, turn left on Old Highway 27 (when arriving in Rockwood, Old Highway 27 becomes Gateway)---go about 7 miles and arrive in Rockwood. At the 5th light (there will be a Rite Aid & Rocky Top Staion), turn right. Cross railroad tracks and go through 2 lights. Between the 2nd and 3rd lights, the church will be on the right. Training will be held in the fellowship hall. This training will be held in Eastern Standard time. Schedule of Events Registration begins @ 8:15. 9:00-12:00 "No I Won't and You Can't Make Me"--Bill Corbett Expected objectives: *Understanding the four goals of misbehavior *Ten techniques for getting out of power struggles *Six steps for avoiding power struggles and other negative behaviors *Defining and handling tantrums 12:00-12:30 LUNCH Provided 12:30-3:30 "Teaching Kids to Play"--Robin Wallace Join Robin for a fun-filled afternoon! Want to get back to basics? This workshop will help you teach your kids to play WITHOUT an electronic device in their hand. Lots of handouts, summer ideas, games, and prozes. Game Show week will be featured---together, we'll bring game shows to life! |
