Check out TeachWithMovies.com Afterschool and Camp Guides. The "Teach with Movies" system uses the interest generated by feature films to get kids thinking. They also use the popular Character Counts approach to teaching ethics. Movies like "Finding Nemo", "Toy Story" and "The Wizard of Oz" have encompassed & replaced fairy tales as favorite stories for young children. Pre-teens and teenagers can be introduced to important cultural ideas and learn about historical events through movies such as "October Sky" and "Remember the Titans". When adults choose a movie and suggest that children can apply its lesson in their own lives, the viewing experience takes on a new meaning.
